Manicures
A manicure is a beauty treatment for the hands that involves filing, shaping, and polishing fingernails. It can also include cuticle care, hand massage, and the application of nail polish.
- Filing: Trimming and shaping the free edge of the nail
- Cuticle care: Pushing back and clipping cuticles, removing hangnails
- Massage: Relaxing the hand muscles and skin
- Polish: Applying one or more polishes, such as gel, acrylic, or regular nail polish

WAXING
- Wax is heated until melted
- Wax is applied to the skin
- A cloth or paper strip is placed over the wax
- The strip is pulled off in the opposite direction of hair growth
- Hair growth: Hair takes longer to grow back after waxing, and it grows back softer and sparser
- Skin exfoliation: Waxing removes dead skin cells, leaving skin smoother
- Avoid waxing if your skin is injured, irritated, or too thin
- Avoid applying retinol products to the skin before waxing
- To maintain smooth skin, wax every 3–5 weeks

NECK & SHOULDER MASSAGE
-
Relieves Tension:The focused massage techniques help loosen tight muscles and release accumulated tension.
-
Reduces Stress:Massage promotes relaxation by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which counteracts the effects of stress.
-
Improves Circulation:Rubbing and kneading the muscles stimulates blood flow, delivering oxygen and nutrients, which can aid in muscle recovery and reduce inflammation.
-
Muscle Relaxation:Massage can help relax tense muscles that often contribute to neck and shoulder pain.
-
Reduced pain:Massage can help to reduce pain that can occur from injury, muscle fatigue, or muscle overuse.Techniques used in a neck and shoulder massage:
- Kneading: Uses finger and thumb pressure to massage and knead muscles.
- Pressing: Applies pressure to specific areas, such as along the spine or on the shoulders.
- Stretching: Gently stretches muscles to improve flexibility and ease tension.
- Thumb Crawling: This involves pressing both thumbs down on the outside of each shoulder and moving them in, pressing firmly at intervals until the thumbs reach the spine and then crawling the thumbs out to the shoulder joints

Pedicures

EYELASH EXTENSIONS
Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent fibers that are glued to your natural lashes to make them look longer, thicker, and darker. They are a cosmetic procedure that can enhance the appearance of your eyes.
How do they work? Eyelash extensions are glued to your natural lashes.
- They can give your eyes a made-up look without the need for mascara or other eye makeup.
How long do they last?
- Eyelash extensions can last for about six weeks, which is the length of a natural eyelash growth cycle.
- To keep them looking their best, most stylists recommend touch-ups every two to three weeks.
Potential drawbacks:
- Eyelash extensions can damage your natural lashes if they're applied or removed incorrectly.
- The weight of extensions can strain your natural lashes, leading to breakage or premature shedding.
- Other potential side effects include chemical conjunctivitis, allergies, pain, and dermatitis.

Acrylic Nails
- A nail technician applies acrylic tips or nail forms
- The acrylic is shaped and polished
- The nails are finished with gel polish
- Clients typically return every two to three weeks for a fill
- A full set can last two to six weeks
- Acrylic nails should be removed by soaking in acetone until soft enough to remove
- A basic full set of acrylic nails can cost at least $55
- Additional costs may apply for custom shaping, art work, or French manicure looks

DIP POWDER NAILS / HEALTHY NAILS
-
Less damaging than acrylics:Dip powder typically doesn't involve harsh chemicals like monomers used in acrylics, making it a safer choice for nails.
-
No UV light exposure:Unlike gel manicures, dip nails don't require UV light curing, which can be beneficial for nail health.
-
Potential for nourishing ingredients:Some high-quality dip powders contain vitamins and minerals like calcium that can help strengthen nails.
-
Proper application and removal:Avoid aggressive filing or peeling off the dip, which can damage the nail bed.
-
Give nails a break:Don't get dip manicures continuously; allow your nails time to recover between applications.
-
Monitor for signs of damage:If you notice excessive brittleness, splitting, or peeling, consult a dermatologist.

Been going here for a few years now and can say Kitty and Sean do an excellent job running this salon spa. They always do a fabulous job on my nails and have always fixed any issues if they arise (which is rare) right away and made sure I was happy. I was especially impressed with my last set of acrylic tips and gel set I had done before my vacation, as they lasted just a little over 5 weeks!! If you are looking for a place to call your nail salon home, I would highly recommend giving them a chance.
